The mission of Vir2Novations is to innovate through the 21st century's developing relationship of virtuosity and virtuality as experienced through educational and artistic processes. This relationship is marked by the shared roots of virtù and vir - that is, of a commitment to personal excellence based upon the foundation of human community. Toward this end, Vir2Novations engages artistic and learning challenges through an etymologically formed definition of technology; from tekhnē, the non-dualistic combination of art and craft, joined with logia, an understanding which transcends the study of a word. Thus, Vir2Novations embraces technology as tekhnē-logia, a consistently reciprocating process of "the art/craft of understanding" and "the understanding of art/craft."
A sole proprietorship of President & Founder Dr. Jeffrey L Walter, Vir2Novations is a company which provides Web Presence and eLearning solutions and consulting services for customized websites and ePortfolios, focused on serving arts and education nonprofit organizations. Dr. Walter has over 20 years teaching and administrative experience in higher education administration and the arts, having served as a Music and Humanities Professor, and a Department Chair and Dean of Visual, Performing and Fine Arts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Performance, a Master of Music in Conducting, a PhD in Education: Instructional Design for Online Learning, and has completed postgraduate study in interdisciplinary studies, philosophy, and humanities.
